Living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D)

We know that living with T1D is hard. Managing your diabetes is a 24-hour job with no breaks. Your blood sugar is affected not just by the food you eat, but also by many other factors such as exercise, stress, hormones, and even the weather! And the risk of complications is real.

Did you know?

  • Most people diagnosed with T1D do not have a family history of the disease
  • Over half of new T1D diagnoses are in people ages 20 and older
  • T1D is not caused by lifestyle, diet or being overweight
  • T1D affects people of all races, ethnicities, ages, and socioeconomic backgrounds
